Registry hack or tip to remove icons from top of display???

Postby quantum » Thu Aug 07, 2008 12:17 pm

Hi all,

Great forum you have here!

I run SA2008 and love it. Resolution is 640x480 since I use a 7" display in the car.

I successfully hacked the registry to remove the side map and control panel thanks to the info in the tips and tricks.

I am now looking for a way to remove some or all of the icons on the top. There is a ruler, options, help graphic, and a whole bunch more. The only thing I'd want to keep up there is the start and end fields if possible

The problem at 640x480 is there is not enough width, so they make 2 rows. This limits the vertical amount of map area actually displayed. If I can limit it to one row by getting rid of some or all of those icons, that would be great!

Thanks for your help!

Right-click on a blank area of the Toolbar and you will see a list of checkboxes so you can turn sections within the Toolbar on or off.

If you want to remove the entire Toolbar, use Windows Explorer, navigate to where the program resides (I didn't use the default when I installed, so I can't tell you exactly where to find it, but it will be something like C:\DeLorme\SA2008\).

Go to the sub-folder named default_toolbarschemes_SA2008.

Find the file named Default.toolbar, rename by adding .sav to the end. When you restart SA2008 the Toolbar will be gone. If you want it back just rename it by removing the .sav and restart the program.
    Word Usage Tip:
    * Then refers to time.
    * Than is used for comparisons.
Turning the GPS receiver on first, then getting a fix, is much better than trying to do it the other way around.

    TY xapie128

    That did the trick!!!

Any other hidden gems I should know about (besided the tips and tricks section).

I happen to have an IPAQ 3115 barely used, and saw a $5.00 GPS setup for that too.

    This forum rocks!
