Background:
My son-in-law recently purchased a laptop, loves it and is encouraging me to get one (I do not have one).
If I had one, I would certainly accessorize it with an Earthmate GPS LT-40 or BT-20 to work in conjuction with Topo USA 8.0.
I notice that there is currently a good special on the BT-20 and I would prefer the convenience of wireless connectivity using one of these gizmos:

Website Observations:
However, when I look here I notice the explicit functional tie-in between the LT-40 and Topo USA 8.0:

OTOH, when I look at the corresponding page for the BT-20, there is no mention of Topo USA 8.0 whatsoever:

Primary Questions:
1. Does the BT-20 support Topo 8.0 in an fashion equivalent to the LT-40 but the website information fails to include that functionality?
2. Or, the BT-20 is functionally different in a comparative sense and it does not work in conjunction with Topo 8.0?
Rhetorical Questions:
If the BT-20 cannot work in conjunction with Topo 8.0, I am curious as to why not?
Such is a rhetorical question as regardless of the answer, the answer does not lead me to one course of action over another.
(I would just buy the LT-40, regardless of the why not.)
1. Is it because the RF interface of the BT-20 does not support Topo 8 specific data transmission and it was a design decision to keep the RF and USB functional interfaces equivalent?
2. Or, the internal functionality of the BT-20 is different and it cannot support Topo 8 specific requirements.
