wilderness use

Postby catrina » Wed Dec 02, 2009 1:27 pm

I am considering an Earthmate GPS BT-20. It looks like a nice light weight unit. I don't know a whole lot about GPS. From the discription it only talks about finding "streets" and in town use. I'm looking for a unit for wilderness travel. Would this unit work or would I need a different type of unit?
Thanks,
Cathy

Unless your want to use a GPS and a Laptop in the wilderness, that is not the GPS you need. You need a PN device and Topo 8.

If you've never used a handheld GPS, there is lots to learn, but these forums and the hundreds of folks that use them, will help you with that.
