I see that you can use this with a MAC running Windows under bootcamp. Can you us it using a Virtual Machine ( Vmware Fusion or Parrallels)?

Getting the USB connection to pass through properly is very tricky. I gave up after a while and just run TopoUSA on my work-issued Thinkpad. My MacBook doesn't have enough disk space for all the imagery anyway.

I have been running Topo 7 and then 8 on a MacBook and iMac (Intel Chips only) with Bootcamp and more recently with Fusion 3. I would recommend Bootcamp unless you have a lot of memory on your Mac. I have had no issues with the USB working with either Bootcamp or Fusion. If you aren't familiar with Fusion, I would note that if you have Bootcamp set up and then later decide you want to try Fusion, it is possible to run your Bootcamp partition from Fusion. And if you desire, you can import the Bootcamp partition into Fusion itself and then erase the Bootcamp partition. My experience is that Fusion seems to be less stable than just using the Bootcamp solution. But, Fusion has just released an update to Fusion3 which may have solved the stability issues. Time will tell.
