Using BT-20 w/ GPS Intermediate Driver (shared connection)

Postby edolikian » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:52 am

I am attempting to use the "shared" GPS Intermediate Driver with either WM5 or WM6. (don't care which model / have both / just want to get it to work). Has anyone had success? This is the GPS Icon on the Settings menu.

Watching your tutorial, I have been able to use Street Maps with my devices but would like to also use connected BT-20 to feed a .Net app with GPS data when posting records either with Maps running or not. Even w/ Maps not running, I can't seem to get this to work. App does work w/ FakeGPS though.

As I understand it, you are supposed to configure to select the Configured Com Port (Bluetooth Outgoing Connection - Say Com 2) as the Hardware Port and Specify a Program Port for you Apps to Use Say Com 8.

This only seems to work if I reverse the entries. (In essense eliminating the GPS Intermediate Driver). Thus Settings in Maps must be set to Com 2 and not Com 8 as you would expect.

Seems like a simple disconnect. Is there a different product I should be using? I'm at the point of simply buying a phone w/ builtin GPS.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
