Printing USGS Quad Maps

Is there a way for me to print exactly the USGS Quad into a 3X3 page map? For example, can I somehow select exactly that quad to print? No matter how I try to make the box by dragging, it's either too high or too wide to select the exact quad I want to print.

I select "show USGS Quads" in "Map Display", but can't select a line exactly around the quad grid I want to print at 1:24,000.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps you can get the desired proportions with your existing printer driver by creating a proportional Custom paper size somewhat smaller than "Letter" or "Legal" size. If that doesn't work, go to Pdf995.com and download that site's PDF creating software. Then try to create a PDF with a "Postscript Custom Paper Size" in the desired proportions. The Pdf file can then be printed from Adobe Reader.

But keep in mind that Delorme's margins may be fixed, so the ratio may not be linear and you will have to experiment.

has anyone tried exporting them to a format that you can send to a photo processor, or take into your drug store on a media

Under the Print Tab you should find a button that will copy a bitmap of the printable area of your map to windows clipboard. From there you can Paste it into any photo editor, resample by size if necessary, and save into an image file.

All photoprocessing stores will handle jpg format. You might have to check with them to see if they support other file formats, and also check on maximum number of megapixels allowed.
