Where on the map is my draw data???

Postby chrisdabum » Mon May 07, 2007 10:18 pm

Hello Delorme gurus, I have some draw files that I failed to label properly, my question is - how do I figure out where the drawings are on the map?

thanks!

Export the Draw file to a text file. Open the text file with a utility like Notepad. Its contents will have the Lat/Lon of each draw object.

OK, thought something like that might work. Thanks for your quick response.

While Xapie has the easiest way to see them all at once, here's another method:

Click on the entire draw file to jump to an area zoomed to contains your draw objects.

    Click Draw >> File

Double click your layer to have the map zoom around *all* objects in the layer

Pull up the bottom bar to see the individual items in the layer. Click any of the individual items to jump right to them.

Well, that is exactly what I needed to know! Only thing is, I don't have the option to pull up the bottom bar.... I have Topo 5, is this a new option?

    thanks for the help!

Whoops, yes. Added in Topo 6.

Once you snap to your area, however, you can use the slect arrow to select all objects in that window (all the little yellow squares, or icons if you have them). Set them to appear at zoom level 1.

That should make them show up.
