improving resolution in ImageReg

Postby wsbsmith » Thu Sep 01, 2011 12:04 am

Folks,

I'm having a frustrating time trying to make images that I import into XMap via ImageReg look decent...I certainly can't use them for clients at this point. No matter what I try to import...photographs, maps, etc., the images end up looking TERRIBLE once I process the layer after registration. I've attached a screenshot showing what my current dilemma looks like before processing (left) and after (right) Any thoughts?

Scott -
The image handling for XMap is rather ill, at best. I recommend pre-warping your images using GDAL. It will take a little bit of time to learn how to use and get image quality settings to how you like them, but then when you import them into XMap, pre-registered, they look million times better.

Another tool that I've used to create a geo-referenced TIFF file is HyberCube.
