Setback?

What is an easy way to draw a line (such as along a stream, or building) and highlight a setback? It's easy to do with a circle, but I'm not sure about other objects such as property lines, streams, buildings etc?

Right click on the river or stream. Click on Manage Draw>>Copy to Draw Object. Right click on Manage Draw. Click on Edit Draw.

Then move the Draw Object using the Arrow Keys on the Keypad. Zoom out to move a small distance incrementally. Zoom in to move an object further.

Thanks, I didn't know about that trick with the manage draw and using the arrow key, that should come in handy for other applications.

You can also use the Buffer Tool, but it will take some manipulation. You first have to get the non-gis object into gis. Then you can use the buffer tool.
