I am a long time user of XMAP and before upgrading to XMAP 7.0 Editor I used ver. 4.5. Some of the functions that I found most useful were the ability to import shp files and exporting of dxf files. I was hoping that by upgrading to ver. 7.0 that I would have that same functionality with the ability to import and export kml/kmz files from the Draw tab. It appears that some of the functions that I used from the Draw tab are no longer there. I think that some of that functionality is there but in other areas of the program.

Are there easy ways to make use (importing and exporting) shp, dxf and kml/kmz format files in ver. 7.0 editor?

These are the export settings (well at least for XMap Enterprise). I was trying to find the comparison chart but did not find it yet.

tcovill,
Welcome to the forum. The functions you are looking for were moved from the Draw tab and put in the GIS tab. I think this happened about version 5 or so. You can do everything you ask for except to import .kml files. Should you have questions or comments don't hesitate to ask. Lots of helpful folks here.

I checked out the GIS tab but did not see these features. Is it possible that the Editor suite does not have these capabilities?

When you click on 'Layers'-->'Export', what do you see?

There is not an "export" option when I select the layers tab.

Please see the attached screen shot.

Hmmm, I see that there is nothing there. Maybe someone from DeLorme can chime in or someone that has the Editor also, sorry I could not have been any help.

Have you tried re-installing XMap? Sounds like a bad installation.

I just realized this morning that the install I have is the "Professional" Edition. I need to reinstall and make sure that the "Editior" addition loads this time.

Thanks for all your help. I'post something if I am still having issues.

Things have changed quite a bit since 4.5. Don't hesitate to ask is you get stumped.

I re-installed ver. 7.0 and made sure that I loaded the editor version this time. I was able to find the functionality that I was expecting.

I appreciate the feed back.
