vias keep changing position

Each time I place a via on a route it starts with number 1 then 2 etc. but after 3 or 4 of them they start changing positions so i end up with 1 on one end and other numbers are scattered throughout the route.I have tried all different ways of doing it but to no avail.Can anyone help? Thanks

Try using the mouse cursor right click feature for routing. "Add" the vias as "last stop" instead of 'Inserting" the vias to prevent the computer from changing the order during recaculation.

Once you see the cause and effect of "adding" vs. "inserting", you can do the routing in a similar manner under the Route Tab or Upper Toolbar, if desired.

You may be encountering auto-ordering (or lack thereof) of the vias. If you add a via by right-clicking a point on the map, pick create route, insert via, then it doesn't number them as you add them, it numbers them as they will be encountered along the route. If you add a via that lies between 4 and 5, then 5 becomes 6 and the new one becomes 5.

If you have the advanced button selected on the route tab, and you use the via button from there to add a via, it goes in at the point that's highlighted in the list, rather than auto-ordering as it's added. If 8 was highlighted, then the new one becomes 9, even if it falls between 1 and 2.

If they're out of order, you can highlight a via in the advanced window and use the arrow buttons on the right to move that via up or down in the list.
