If you mean the PN-40, the answer is No.
Only DeLorme's Topo line of software works for that. But Topo comes with all their PN series models.

AND you can import the route created in SA2009 into Topo then transfer to the PN-40. No need to recreate the route in Topo.

If you are only looking to create routes and plan trips with Street Atlas and then navigate with it on your computer in your vehicle, then the Lt-40 is all you need. If you wish to have a gpsr that will work outside the vehicle, without a computer then you need the Pn series handhelds. I am not a fan of using a Pn for vehicle navigation. It can be done, but there are better products or methods. I use the Lt-40, a netbook and either Street Atlas or Topo for routing in my truck. I use the Pn for navigating on my motorcycle or while in the woods. I will say that I have not tried Street Atlas 2010 but between SA2009 and Topo NA9, I like Topo better, even just for navigating.

I don't understand what you mean by get the route into the LT-40.

The LT-40 is a GPS receiver that receives the satellite signals and provided that information to SA2009.

You create a route in SA2009 by selecting a start and a finish. The route will display on the screen. With the LT-40 connected to the USB port and in view of the sky. Select the GPS tab and then Start GPS. once the LT-40 acquires the satellite signals, your route will start.

Above post is probably your answer. The lt-40 is not a GPS mapping device in the sense that a Garmin or Tomtom is when you use those in the car. It's just an antenna and receiver and it feeds Street Atlas running on your laptop. If you've built a route on your laptop and connected the GPS to a USB port, then the laptop will use the GPS signals and track the route and provide you with directions. The LT-40 knows nothing about the route itself, it's just providing Street Atlas with positional info.
Are you the reason I'm so far above average?
