importing POI's

Postby Lektrk » Sat Jul 10, 2010 7:20 pm

I have imported a new POI list from the poi-factory, I cannot get them to show up on my map. What do I need to do to make them work?

Welcome aboard Lektrk. Street Atlas does not easily take all POIs from POI Factory well. Here is a good thread on the best approach. Hope it helps. You could also post the file you are interested in and see if someone can give some specific advice.

Thank you Vic.
This is the file I'm trying to import: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/11561 . It is for 2 meter ham radio repeater locations. I read the other post, but not sure I understand the process, I'll try reading it again a few times and see if that helps it sink into my what I used to call a brain. I'm beginning to understand what they mean by "you can't teach a old dog new tricks". I appreaceate any help I can get.

When I attempt to load the file in Topo it look like the name contains some of the info and the comments the other piece. Not able to post the entire GPX file as it is 4mb

When I imported it to SA2009 all I get are flags at the location of each repeater. I would like to have the frequency and PL tone showing also. Is there a way to do this?
