Latitude/Longitude

Postby k1ng » Mon Jan 18, 2010 11:04 pm

Every time I enter a Latitude/Longitude for my home it shows a location 30 miles away. If I enter my home L/L it finds 40.9136,-79.20295. If I am on the road and want to go home can I use, Route start (green dot) and finish (red dot) with my L/L to get me back home? Or I am on the road and use the GPS location to make a Route to a point I only know the L/L for, how do I do it ? In the help section I found information on L/L ( a single result is returned using a L/L . ect. [Coordinates must be in one of the many formats recognized by the program and are based on your Display setting in the Options dialog box]. In the Options drop down box I have the settings of DISPLAY, Units , coordinates set to Deg,Min,Sec. Is this OK?

What is the exact format you are using to enter your coordinates?
Note that if you want to enter them as deg, min, sec that you need spaces between.
Example: 34 12 55,-117 41 18

The fact you put "DISPLAY" in all caps must mean that you correctly figured out that that setting only affects how coordinates are displayed.
You can ENTER them any way you like, but they will always DISPLAY how you have that setting.
For all your entry options, see the SA2009 User Guide, page 23.

xapie 128 thank you. I was NOT using a space between numbers. I tryed a Route with a point in Maine and my Home L/L in finish block, hit calculate and it took me Home.
